Hallo sahabat berbagi. Kali ini kami akan membagikan materi bahasa Inggris mengenai procedure text. Yuk simak pembahasannya. 

Pernahkah kalian menggunakan sebuah blender? Bagaimana cara menggunakannya? Tentunya kalian bisa menjelaskannya dengan berbagai cara atau langkah - langkah dalam menggunakannya bukan. Hal inilah yang dinamakan prosedur. Bisa di pahami?

Definition of procedure text 

Prosedur dalam bahasa Inggris disebut procedure. Procedure is a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform different processes in a sequence of steps. Meanwhile procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. 

Teks prosedur merupakan teks yang bertujuan menerangkan cara membuat/melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan serangkaian langkah atau kegiatan. Misalkan cara membuat nasi goreng, cara menggunakan aplikasi whatsapp, ataupun prosedur yang lainnya. 

Purpose of procedure text 

Purpose atau tujuan dari prosedur text adalah to tell the reader how to do/use/operate or make something. Prosedur text memberikan penjelasan kepada pembaca bagaimana cara atau langkah dalam melakukan /menggunakan /mengoperasikan atau membuat sesuatu. 

Generic structure of procedure text 

Prosedur text memiliki 3 struktur yakni 

1. Goal / Aim ( tujuan) : It contains the purpose of procedure text. For example : How to make Bakso, How to operate computer, How to use Hijab, etc

2. Material / Ingredient / Tools (bahan dan alat yang diperlukan) : It contains of materials that used in the process. For example the material to cook omelette are egg, onion, vegetable oil, and so on.

3. Steps / Directions / Instruction / Method (langkah - langkah) : It contains the steps to make something. For example, Firstly, cut onion...., secondly ...., etc.

 Language feature of Procedure text 

Unsur kebahasaan prosedur text sebagai berikut :

1. Use adverbial of sequence/using temporal conjunction ( menggunakan keterangan urutan / temporal konjungsi) misalnya : first, second, third, next, then, finally, the last, etc.
2. Use command/ imperative sentence ( menggunakan kata perintah) seperti : put the flour in the bowl, cut thr onion, etc. 
3. Using adverbial / adverb to express detail the time, place, manner accurately ( menggunakan kata keterangan yang mengungkapkan waktu, tempat) misal for five minutes, 2 hours, etc
4. Using action verb (menggunakan kata kerja aksi) misal add, stir, pour, cut, etc.
5. Using simple present tense. 

Contoh procedure text 

1. 

Avocado Juice 

Ingredients 

• 1 avocado
• A half glass of water
• Some sugar
• Several ice cubes

Steps

• First, spoon out avocado pulp and place in blender
• Then, add a half glass of water
• Add enough sugar
• Mix it or blend it
• Pour the juice in a tall glass
• Finally add several ice cubes
• The avocado juice is ready to serve

How to charge the battery of our cell phone

There are some steps to charge the battery of our cell phone, as follow.

1. Connect the charger to a wall outlet
2. Connect the charger to the phone. The battery indicator bar starts scrolling. If charging is not displayed, wait for a while, disconnect the charger, plug it in again, and retry. If changing still fails, contact your dealer.
3. When the battery is fully charged, the bar stops scrolling. Disconnect the cahrger from the phone and the wall outlet.
